Access to SMS Broadcasting

SMS Broadcasting is available in the Scale plan and needs to be activated in your account by one of our Trengo Support agents. If you wish to use Broadcasting on SMS, please reach out to team@trengo.com and ask for access.

SMS Broadcasting is available on all SMS channel types, with your own Twilio account; One-way or Two-way SMS. Do mind the requirements and limitations of SMS Broadcasting.

Requirements for SMS Broadcasting

You need the following to use SMS broadcasting in Trengo.

πŸ”˜ An active SMS channel.

πŸ”˜ A subscription to the Trengo Scale package.

πŸ”˜ Approval from our Support agents to use SMS Broadcasting.

πŸ”˜ If you have connected your number directly via Trengo, you need enough Trengo Balance in your account. In case you have connected a number with your own Twilio account, make sure you have sufficient Twilio balance.

Limitations of SMS broadcasting

Keep the following in mind when using SMS broadcasting in Trengo.

πŸ”˜ SMS messages have a limit of 160 characters. It is possible to exceed the number of characters, but the message will automatically be split up into multiple messages which will result in extra costs.

πŸ”˜ There will be a delay in sending, which is reflected in the status β€˜sending’. The delay makes sure that your Trengo inbox is not overloaded with requests.

πŸ”˜ The Broadcasting overview gives an estimated amount of costs, not the exact costs. This is due to discounts, and also the length of the actual SMS message.

πŸ”˜ Tags may influence the length of a message once it has been actually sent. Therefore the costs of an SMS will always be an estimation when using tags.

Good to know

SMS broadcasting is disabled by default for all agencies, even if you already have purchased the Scale or Enterprise plan. Trengo will only allow SMS Broadcasting to valid organizations to prevent spam or fraudulent use of this feature.

To gain access to SMS broadcasting, reach out to our support team via team@trengo.com with an email address that is linked to your Trengo account. Make sure to mention your company name and the reason you wish to use SMS Broadcasting. After research by our team, we will either accept or reject your request, or ask for additional information.
