Access to WhatsApp Broadcasting
WhatsApp Broadcasting is available as an add-on from our various plans, starting from our Trengo Boost plan.
WhatsApp Broadcasting can be used with all WhatsApp Business channels and connected providers. Do take the requirements and limitations of WhatsApp Broadcasting into account.
Requirements for WhatsApp Broadcasting
Make sure you have the following in order before you start with WhatsApp broadcasting.
🔘 An active WhatsApp Business API channel.
🔘 A subscription to either Trengo Boost or Pro plan.
🔘 Pre-approved WhatsApp templates to send out.
🔘 Enough third party carrier cost commitment in your Trengo account.
Limitations of WhatsApp broadcasting
Keep the following in mind when using WhatsApp broadcasting in Trengo.
🔘 Please keep in mind that there are messaging limits put in place by Meta. You can review those limitations here.
🔘 There will be a delay in sending, which is reflected in the status ‘sending’. The delay makes sure that your Trengo inbox is not overloaded with requests.
🔘 The broadcasting overview gives an estimated amount of costs, not the exact costs. This is due to discounts, and also the length of the actual WhatsApp message.
🔘 It's not possible to send out 'improved templates' via a WhatsApp broadcast. Only 'text-only' WhatsApp templates can be sent out.
🔘 You can not use WhatsApp broadcasting to send regular WhatsApp messages, or send WhatsApp templates to WhatsApp groups.
Good to know
Meta strictly monitors the quality of conversations that businesses have using the WhatsApp Business API, so keep the following in mind.
🔘 Make sure the customers you send your message to, have opted-in to receive these messages.
🔘 Be aware that promotional templates have a higher risk of being unwanted. Therefore we advise only using informative templates for broadcasting.
🔘 If Meta spots low-quality conversations, they can send you a warning, allow your number lesser conversations per day, (permanently) block your number, or (permanently) block your WhatsApp Business account.
