With Trengo you can set up a chatbot, which can take a lot of work out of your hands. This chatbot uses algorithms, machine learning, and natural language processing technology to mimic human conversation. Chatbots also get smarter over time. As they learn the unique language of your specific customer, chatbots become more precise at answering customer questions.

You have now successfully created your own chatbot, and it’s time to add some content to it.

Adding content to your chatbot

You can add two types of content to your chatbot: categories and questions. Below, we’ll tell you all you need to know about these.

Adding categories to your chatbot

To keep the chatbot structured and organized, you can add different categories to it. Think of categories as different conversational topics such as pricing, products, and delivery.

1. Navigate to ‘Categories’ and click ‘Add category’;

2. Add your category’s name and click ‘Save’.

You have now created a category for your chatbot, and it’s time to fill this category with questions.

Adding questions to your chatbot

When entering questions your customers might ask and what your answer to those is, it’s important to keep in mind that you need to add variations of one different question.

1. First, click ‘Questions’ and the ‘plus’ icon next to the category to which you want to add the questions;

2. Add your questions and answer for these questions. Click the ‘checkmark’ icon to save the questions;

ℹ️ The more variations of a question you provide to your chatbot, the ‘smarter’ it becomes and the more accurate its answers will be. Our general rule of thumb is to add around 5 different variations to a single question.

ℹ️ Below, you find an example of correctly added questions and answer.

After adding enough questions, you can configure your chatbot settings and test your chatbot.
