You can connect your Gmail or Gsuite account to Trengo, to receive and send emails from within Trengo. In case you want to add multiple Google forwarding addresses to your Trengo account, but you do not want to create a new Google user in your Google Admin for every inbox, there is a different and cost-saving way to get the same outcome in Trengo.

ℹ️ You need to be an administrator in Trengo, have access to Google Admin and have access to your domain DNS settings in order to correctly follow the steps below.

Use Google for forwarding

Follow the steps below to use Google as your forwarding email system, so you do not need to create a new Google user for every inbox.

1. Check if your organization is using Google domains by navigating to Google Admin > Domains > Manage domains;

2. In case all domains you want to use say ‘Verified’, you can continue with the following steps;

3. Create an email forwarding channel in Trengo;

4. Set up your sending email from your own domain for the newly created email channel in Trengo;

5. Navigate to Google Admin > Apps > Google Workspace > Gmail > Default routing;

6. Add a rule for the default routing as follows;

1️⃣ Select ‘Single recipient’: add the email address and make sure the domain is verified in Manage domains.

2️⃣ Select ‘Change the envelope recipient’: paste the Trengo forwarding email address here.

3️⃣ Select ‘Perform this action on non-recognized and recognized addresses’.

7. Click ‘Save’.

ℹ️ We advise you to test your setup. In case ‘@trengomail.com’ is still displayed as the sender domain, go back to step 4 and follow all the steps in order to attach an outgoing email domain to the Trengo forward address.
