What are contacts?

Contacts are based on channels and are automatically created and categorized based on every new incoming conversation. 

Let's assume the following scenario:
Your customer Peter B. gets in touch with you via different channels: Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp. A contact is created based on each new conversation. Conversations that are received via the same channels form 1 contact:

How to edit contacts?

There are 2 ways you can edit a contact in Trengo:

1. Directly via the sidebar 

You can edit a contact directly via the sidebar. Open a conversation and the sidebar and click on 'Empty' to name your contact.

2. Via contact settings 

  1. Go to your navigation panel >contact and select the contact you want to edit.
  2. Use the search bar to search for your contact and select it.
