Outbound number or Outgoing caller ID

A practical setting in Trengo Voice is the possibility of choosing an outbound phone number. Useful when the current phone number hasn't been ported yet, for example. The outbound phone number is the number that can be dialed or the number that a customer sees when the company calls him.

Note: Organizations that use their own Twilio account, will need to add an Outbund number, our Outgoing caller ID via their own Twilio account.

Steps to add an outbound number

  1. Go to your navigation panel > settings > Voice > channel and scroll down.
  2. Click on "here" underneath the Outbound number to add a new number.
  3. Fill out this form:
    1. Phone number in international formatting
      Example:
      πŸ‡³πŸ‡± 316 instead of 062
      πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§ 4479 instead of 079
      πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ 1202 instead of 0202
    2. Optional extensions
If your number has a greeting, or an IVR menu, adding the extensions will help to get the verification call through. Add a w for every 0,5 seconds of delay you wish to add and add a number for every choice the system has to make to be connected.
    3. Click on Add number.
  4. Next, the selected number will receive an automated call. In the Dashboard you will see a number. Fill out this number on your phone for verification.
  5. The phone number has now been added. To activate it, select it in the dropdown menu next to "Outbound number".
